1 month old!

So Max is now a month old, and here are his latest snaps.

Today I took him to be weighed - this time last week he weighed 7lb 4oz, and today he weighs 8lb 6oz!!! I can't believe how much weight he has put on in a week! Nice to know that the constant sucking is producing good results!

What big blue eyes you have!

Max is getting more and more alert by the day, thus showing off this pair of big gorgeous blue eyes! Sometimes he just sits there and stares at me for ages - I love those moments and can't wait to see him smile at me!

Cry, suck, poo, sleep, cry, suck, poo, sleep.....

Life with a new baby takes some major adjusting to - but amongst the what feels like constant feeding and nappy changing, we are experiencing some great moments, and Max is just getting cuter by the day.

We had our first trip to church today which we just about survived - however, one moment I will not forget - a completely random woman who neither Ben nor I had ever met before tried to take our baby off us for a cuddle. She actually reached out to grab him and Ben had to stop her. What is that all about? I would never ever do that!! I was quite surprised at how I felt about it - really angry and very protective. Is this what I have got to look forward to the more I take Max out? I think I might hibernate at home for just a little bit longer!!

One of his happy awake moments - rare!

Check out those impressive nostrils. Nice to see they are not as hairy as Daddy's... yet!

Just waking up - how cute. Check out the flaky legs - he is shedding skin like a snake at the moment!

Gorgeous sleep face!

Max's new toy - don't think he quite appreciates it yet!

Cloth nappies

I made the decision early in my pregnancy that I would use cloth nappies on Max (my eco-conscience won't allow me to send thousands of nappies to landfill). Anyway, he is still a little small for the cloth nappies at the moment so I have been using tiny little disposables temporarily until he beefs up a little.

Well, tonight, following an almighty explosion from his bottom, Ben and I decided to give the washables their first outing - and here are the results! How hilarious - the one of him in his sleepsuit makes him look like an umpa-lumpa from the Gene Wilder version of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory! The nappies will certainly take some getting used to!

"Mummy, don't make me wear this!"

Umpa-lumpa doopa dee doo!

Introducing Max

I always said I would never have a blog, but with so many people wanting to see pictures of our little man, coupled with me being just way to tired to be spending hours emailing and sending out photos etc, I have relented and accepted the fact that having a blog might just be the best way to show off the new addition to our family.

So, here is Max Allan Hall, born Monday 31st March at 3.15am at Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup. He weighed in at 6lb 12oz and 34cms long, so a nice respectable size! He arrived after 17 hours of labour - 15 of which I endured at home - how I don't know! He has strawberry blonde hair (OK, ginger) and is an absolute peach!

Enjoy!
